Welcome, Juniors!
" YOU CAN BE SUCCESSFUL!"
New Information 9/4/18
The best way to get information from me is via text message or email. If you have not signed up to get my messages, you can email me at WoodA@rheacounty.org or send a text to 81010 with the message @rhea2020.
Welcome to your Junior year! You have spent two years getting used to high school and now we are really going to start looking at getting you out!
The junior year in my opinion is the most difficult year, but it can also be the most fun. There are additional tests like the ASVAB and ACT. However, there is job shadowing, career fairs, class rings, and Distinguished Young Women. You don't want to miss anything!
The best way to ensure you stay on top of everything is to stay informed. The most valuable tool is REMIND. You may sign up for my text messages by sending a text to 81010 with the message @rhea2020. I do use REMIND quite often. I recommend sharing this information with the parents so they don’t harass you about what is going on. There is even an APP and an email option.
I go into the classrooms once a semester and go over transcripts with you. (I only provide one a semester so hang on to it!) You are given newsletters during this time with updated information. I then try my hardest to get the newsletter up on my website within a few days. My website is rchs.rheacounty.org/wooda.
To stay on top of grades, parents can visit the Counseling Office with their driver’s license and receive their account information. Unfortunately, we cannot give it directly to you so you will have to get your parent to give you the information. The good news is there is an APP for ParentPortal!
Finally, there is always announcements and the Counseling Bulletin Board outside the Counseling Office.
It is up to you what you do with the information provided.
You are the only one that can ensure you are successful!
